Featured Story

A real "Feel Good Story"!

Last month we hosted a press conference to highlight the unsolved drive-by shooting of a 5-year-old boy who was left paralyzed. Purely by coincidence, one of the officers who saved Pete's life happen to be at the City of Flint Police Department right before the presser. Officer Riddell, Pete, his grandmother, and our director, Julie, were all overwhelmed with emotion of gratitude and joy. With the help of our wonderful media partners, MLive.com, The Flint Journal, ABC12: First In-Depth Everywhere WJRT-TV, WNEMTV5news, Mid-Michigan NOW, awareness has been brought to the situation. Even though the case remains unsolved at this point, there are many other positive outcomes to report.

Pete's grandmother had https://acornstairlifts.com/ come give an estimate for a stairlift which would help them tremendously since Pete's bedroom is upstairs. Well, this wonderful salesman, Jason Trimble, knowing only that Pete had been shot, went home from that call and searched the web about this young boy. He found all of the news stories that our media partners shared. He then called the National Sales Manager in Florida, Kristina King, to tell her about the situation. She immediately reached out to the President of

Operations, Shawn Herbst, and they then called Pete's grandma with the news

that they were donating the stairlift!! This helps the family so very much!!

Thank you, Jason, Kristina, and Shawn at Acorn Stairlifts - we are all so grateful!

Thank you, media partners - you helped make this happen!

Good will always win!!
